the carpal tunnel of love [chapter eight]

(Chapter Eight)
Brendon and Ryan

"Oh, well, um, s-sorry if I interrupted," Brendon said walking out of the doorway and slamming the door shut. I got up from the small bunk bed and ran out the door. I looked around the main area of the tour bus and upon finding that Brendon wasn't in it, I asked, "Where'd Brendon go?" "He ran out of the bus, we don't know where he went," said Jon, who was cuddling with Avery on the couch. "Thanks," I yelled back as I ran out of the bus. I did a complete 360 degree turn to see if I could spot Brendon. I saw someone sitting on the bench outside the CD store and I ran over to them. "Brendon?" I asked. "What do you want?" he replied. "I'm sorry, Ryan took me by complete surprise," I said, breathing heavily from the 2 block run. I sat down next to Brendon and tried to comfort him. He pushed my hand off and said, "I don't need comforting, I am just fine." I looked into his eyes and said, "I"m sorry. I truly am. I will do anything to make it up to you. Brendon, I really like you, it's not just that you are the hottest lead singer in my lifetime, but I really like your personality."

Brendon placed his arm around me and pulled me closer. The same quiver ran up and down my back, but this time it was somehow different. I wanted to kiss him and he wanted to kiss me. He looked into my eyes and said, "You could make it up with a kiss." I smiled and I pressed my lips upon his, and Brendon slowly began to caress me. I could feel the fireworks exploding and music playing. When Brendon pulled away he said, "Wow, You are a great kisser!" I blushed and said, "No I'm not..." Brendon smiled at me and said, "Now you know you are lying to yourself." I blushed even more until my face was as red as the roses in the flower shop window two blocks down.

Brendon took my hand and we got up from the bench. "Do you know of any bands that are playing here tonight?" Brendon asked me. 'That's a random question,' I thought, 'I actually do know a band who is playing in the garage we practice in.' "Yes, actually I do know a concert that is going to take place in the garage where we practice," I said, "It's a band called 'Between the Trees', they are REALLY good." "Let's go then!" Brendon said, walking over in that direction. "Well don't we need to tell the others?" I asked, looking at the tour bus. "I guess so," Brendon said, "We also need to get some hoodies because it is supposed to be 24 degrees tonight!" I nodded and we ran across the street to the bus.

When we walked inside, Jon and Avery were in a hot make out session, Marissa and Spencer were playing video games and Sam was no where in sight. "Where's Sam?" I asked looking around in the tour bus. "Dunno, she and Ryan took off in her car," Spencer said as he button mashed his way to winning, "Hah! I win again!" Marissa groaned and said, "What do I owe you for this?" Spencer scooted closer to her and said, "A kiss will be all that is necessary." Marissa blushed and scooted closer to Spencer and kissed him.

Meanwhile, Brendon and I were in the closet of the bus searching for some hoodies to wear. I found one that said "Fall Out Boy" on it and tried it on. It fit. "I got one to wear," I said walking over to Brendon's side of the closet. Brendon picked up one that had a Clandestine logo on it and said, "Okay, we're ready to go!" I grabbed Brendon's hand and we walked into the main area of the bus. "Hey, we're going to a concert at the garage," I said to the two couples, who were too busy lip-locked. I heard a muffled "Okay" from Marissa who was on the couch with Jon. Jon released from the kiss and said, "What concert?" "The 'Between the Trees' concert, they are a local band here," I said handing him a flyer for the concert. "Cool, can we come?" Spencer asked as he pulled away from Marissa. "Sure," I said, "Just grab a hoodie and come on!"

Brendon had walked into the kitchen and was on his cell phone. "-unno where you guys are! You have the nerve to kiss the woman I like and you knew-" Brendon was shouting into his phone, "Hold on, I'm sorry, I'm talking to best buddy Ryan." I nodded and sat down at the little breakfast nook. "Ryan? Well I think that maybe Lexi would like to talk to you," Brendon said as he handed me the phone. I took the phone and said, "Ryan?" "Yes?" "I like you and all, but not like that." "Well that's obvious! Well Sam and I are at a movie right now and we have to go, so good bye." Ryan hung up and I handed the phone back to Brendon. "What did he say?" Brendon asked. "Just that it's 'Obvious' I didn't like him and that 'He and Sam are at a movie'," I said getting up and walking towards the door, "Come, let's go." Brendon took me by the hand and we walked out the door. The others were already outside waiting for us. "Let's go slowpokes!" Avery yelled to us; she was 4 blocks ahead. "We're coming!" I yelled to her as Brendon and I ran to catch up.
