(Chapter Five)
Breathing In, Breathing Out

The paramedic gave a sharp tug to my sleeve and I looked at her. "The one in the ambulance, in the stretcher, he has been electrocuted, and very badly," she said pointing to Brendon's body. 'Well no s**t,' I thought in my head. I nodded and said, "Yeah, we guessed that too." The paramedic gave me a stern look and replied, "He is in critical condition, he may not make it." My heart leaped into my throat and I couldn't speak. 'Brendon, dieing at only age 19? No, no it, it is impossible!' I thought to myself, wiping the sweat off my forehead. "Well, go ahead and get into the ambulance," the paramedic said helping me into the ambulance.

Jon looked at me with his big brown eyes and said, "Everything going to be okay?" I couldn't lie to him, but I didn't want him to be upset like he got on stage. "Uh, um, she said he is going to be j-just fine," I said looking at Brendon, who was hooked up with an IV. "Okay! Thats great!" Jon said cheering up and giving me a huge hug. My eyes leaked out tears as I hugged him. I quickly wiped them away as we released from the hug.

A few minutes later we were at the hospital and Brendon was being rushed to the emergency room. "Please wait over here, ma'am," said one of the nurses, pointing to a small wait area where, Spencer, Ryan, and the rest of my band were already waiting. Sam came rushing over, in tears and wrapped her arms around me. "Oh, Alexis, it's all my fault!" Sam sobbed. "It's not any of our faults, it just happened," I said, tears leaking out my eyes. "You know something we don't," Marissa asked me, "Don't you?" "Well since Jon has gone to get some coffee, I will tell you." I said sitting down on the waiting room couch. "He has been electrocuted, badly, and th-they think he might not make it!" I cried as I heaved in a heavy sob. Ryan quickly came to my aide and placed his arm around me. "I'm sure he'll be fine, just fine, wait and see," Ryan whispered into my ear as he hugged me. He smiled at me and he said, "Well, guys, we just have to wait and see how Brendon does."
