(Chapter Seven)
Parting of the Red Sea
4 days later
February 6th
Brendon and I stood in the front of the little Park Ave CD store staring at the line that had formed almost instantly. Brendon was admitted out of the hospital yesterday, with a doctor warning of "take it easy". Ryan, Jon, Spencer and the rest of the gang were all hanging out in the Starbucks across the street getting lattes to go. Brendon and I ran over here in hopes to get a copy of Infinity On High, Fall Out Boy's new album, but it looked as if we'd be waiting here for hours. Brendon looked at me and my worried face and said, "Don't worry, I'll work some of my 'OH MY GOSH ITS BRENDON URIE!" charm.
He took me by the arm and walked over to the CD shop, and suddenly started to scream and shout as we made our way across the street. At least 50 girls rushed over to Brendon. "Ladies, ladies, calm down!" Brendon laughed pulling me tighter to his side, "We can all get pictures and autographs, but right now we need to go inside to buy the new CD." Like Moses and the Red Sea, the girls parted and we easily made our way into the store. We walked up to the front counter and asked for a CD. The 16 year old cashier was as excited and giddy as ever. "How many copies, Mr. Urie?" she said giggling and smiling. "Two, please," Brendon said smiling. The cashier grabbed two copies from the endless stack of albums and said, "That will be 25.23." I went to reach for my wallet when Brendon said, "You don't have to pay, babe, I will." He winked at me and I could feel my face turning red.
We walked outside of the store and were bombarded again by girls. "Well, girls, I need to go get my camera out of the bus, so just wait here," Brendon said as we walked to the tour bus. When we got inside the bus, Ryan, Jon, Spencer, Avery, Marissa and Sam were already sitting on the couches drinking their lattes. "Where you guys been?" said Avery and Jon at the same time. Avery blushed and Jon winked at her. "Parting the Red Sea of girls," Brendon said putting down the CD's. "Fun," said Marissa unenthusiastically.
Brendon grabbed the camera that was lying on the table and said, "I'll be back in an hour or so." I laughed and wished him good luck. "Where's he going?" asked Ryan. I walked over to Ryan and sat down next to him. "He's going to have a little photo shoot with the girls outside," I said picking the latte they had gotten me, "By the way, what is your problem? You have been quite rude and distant since we left the hospital." Ryan took me by the arm and we walked into the bedroom of the tour bus. "Well, to tell you the truth, I really like you," Ryan told me as he looked into my eyes. Ryan? Like me? I couldn't really believe that Brendon liked me either but Ryan? "Well, I don't know what to say," I said breaking from his gaze and staring at the floor. Ryan reached out and gently pushed my head up and I looked at him in embarrassment. I had always been shy, especially around guys. "Are you and Brendon boyfriend/girlfriend?" Ryan asked, sitting on his bed. I sighed and said, "No, but I get the vibes he likes me." I sat down next to Ryan and he put his arm around me. A warm quiver ran up and down my back as he pulled me closer. "Would you want to be my girlfriend then?" Ryan said gazing into my eyes with his. "W-well, I-I don't know, I mean what would Brendon think?" I said, looking at the floor again. Ryan tilted my head up again and placed his lips upon mine. Before I knew it we were lying on the bed wildly making out with each other. Suddenly, the door swung open and it was Brendon.
