(Chapter Four)
A real Panic for the Disco
Brendon's body had just fallen to the floor. Sam was screaming that he was dead and the audience was going insane. I saw some girls crying and some who were cursing at us and saying it was our fault. "Lexi! I think he has been electrocuted," Marissa shouted to me as I made my way to his, what seemed lifeless, body. I felt around his chest for a heartbeat and I felt a small, barely beating one. His hand, which had been clutching the mic, was burned, and very badly. "I think you're right," I whispered, tears leaking out of my eyes. Avery was on the side stage trying to explain everything to the rest of the band, who were outraged and in shock. Jon ran out on stage to Brendon's body and cryed over it. I think he may have said a prayer or two but after a little bit he just silently caressed Brendon's body. "Will someone please call a f***ing ambulance??" shouted Spencer.
I reached into my left pocket and got out my cellphone and dialed 911. "911, what is your emergency," said the operator. As calmly as I could I said, "S-Someone has been electrocuted, or something on stage and we need an ambulance immediately!" "Where is your location?" she asked. "Um..." I said, my mind gone blank, "The Hard Rock! I think it is 1340 Musica Lane!" "We know exactly where that is and an ambulance will be there momentarily, try to keep the situation calm," the operator said as she hung up. 'Calm?!?! Right!' I thought to myself. By now security guards were on stage trying to keep fans from rushing on stage.
"We need to get his body off-stage!" I shouted, putting away my cellphone. Ryan nodded in agreement and he walked over to pick up Brendon. Jon still lay over Brendon with a solemn look over his normally sweet-looking face. "Jon, buddy, your going to have to move so we can get Brendon off-stage," Ryan said in an almost-motherly tone. Jon reluctantly got off Brendon's body and Ryan and a security guard hauled Brendon off stage. "How in hell could this happen?" cried Jon, his face wet with tears. "I really have no idea, Jon, but I think Brendon will be okay," I said sitting down next to him and putting an arm around him to calm him down. He started to sob and he pulled me over and started to cry over my shoulder. "Shh, shh, it'll be alright, just try to calm down," I said caressing him. "The ambulance is here," said one of the guards pointing to the back door.
"Come on, Jon, lets go in the ambulance with Brendon," I whispered in his ear as I pulled him and I up. Jon clung to my body as we made it to the door. Outside, the paramedics were already placing Brendon on a stretcher into the ambulance. I saw Jon's eyes well up with tears and I said, "It'll be okay, I'm sure he is just fine." Jon got into the ambulance and as I was about to get into the ambulance, a paramedic pulled me aside...
